This Saturday, September 5th 2020, one of our great supporters, Andrew Elliman, will be swimming the length of the Channel (21 miles!!) in a temporary pool at the back of the beautiful Musgrave Arms in Shillington.
You are all invited to come along to this fantastic day! Andrew will be getting in the pool at 10am. There's plenty of parking and loads of things going on whilst he's 'crossing the channel'.
There'll be a hog-roast, plenty of other food and drink, music, games and a great atmosphere as we all cheer Andrew on!!!
One of the most amazing things about this feat, is that only a year ago - Andrew couldn't swim. He's trained for over 12 months to complete this challenge in aid of CAN, and we couldn't be more proud of him for his efforts. Andrew met Doug in Nepal after taking part in another fundraising effort on Mount Everest in 2018. He has been raising money for CAN since 2015, but this is by far his biggest fundraising challenge yet!
He has been training almost every day over the summer by swimming in the River Great Ouse and by strapping himself to his house with a climbing rope and 'swimming' in the pop-up pool in his garden!
Andrew is raising money for CAN and for Keech Childrens Hospice. You'll be able to donate money on the day, or visit his website for more info!
We'll be there too - so come and say hi!!
Good luck Andrew!!
